Sep. 2nd, 2004 12:11 amI like how U2 transcends all barriers of rock radio. Soft rock? yep. Alternative rock? uh huh. 80s rock? Classic rock? Adult contemporary? Oldies? Spanish? check. check. check.
No matter what time of day I get in my car, burn myself severely on my seatbelt buckle, and slam any number of strappy things in the door 5 times before getting it to shut, I turn on the radio and hear:
IN THE NAAAAAAAME, OF LUUUHUHUV
*flip flip flip*
LUHUUVV IS A TEMPLE. LUHUUVV THE HIGHER LAW
*frantically flip and swear profusely*
DESIIIIIIIIIYIYIYIYUUUUR
*slam fist onto seek button*
YOOOOOOOOOHOOOO. ALLL I WANT IS YOOOOOHOOOOO.
And so begins my 45 minute fun filled journey to school wherein I am so aggravated, I can't help but scream "douchebag" at anyone traveling under 95 miles an hour and must fight overwhelming urges to drive the car off of the bridge and into the American River.
An honorable mention here would be The Cure's "Friday I'm in Love," which is without fail, played repeatedly each Monday and Tuesday morning. Hey shitheads. It's not Friday. And furthermore, I'm not in fucking love. Thanks for rubbing it in my face.
