A star is born.
Jul. 31st, 2007 05:23 pmMy day began with some harassment by some senator over the phone.
"WHAT IS THE MOTIVATION BEHIND THESE INMATE VISITING REGULATIONS?!"
I started to answer that the general public likes to bring in balloons full of heroin in their asses to the prisons, but was promptly told to shut up by someone standing nearby. So I informed him that I was nobody, and that I didn't know.
Apparently that too, was not the proper response to a senator.
So I wind up going over to the hearing on the regs to drop off copies of something, and end up with a bay area NBC news affiliate camera in my face. "Here with us today is the Coalition of Inmate Wives for Equality," the anchorman informed Northern California as he panned across 'us'.
I tried to pull my mock turtleneck over my head but it was mock, after all.
Fabulous. Fabulous! This is exactly how I wanted to make my mark in the world.
